A beautiful and well preserved example of a Molar tooth from a Mammoth.

Mammoths are an extinct species of Elephantidae that lived over most of northern Eurasia from early to the Middle Pleistocene.

The most well known Mammoths were Woolly Mammoth and the Steppe Mammoth. Furry Mammoths had tusks nearly 5 metres in length.

Mammoths emerged about 400,000 years ago in East Asia, Mammoths survived until 4,000 years ago – they were around at the same time the Great Pyramid of ancient Egyptwere beign built!

Age: Middle Pleistocene, 600,000 – 370,000 years ago.
