The biggest, meanest, scariest predator around was an armoured sea monster called Dunkleosteus.
Pronounced (Dun-kel-os-tee-us), it lived around Living around 360 million years ago during the Devonian Period.
Long before the Age of Dinosaurs, Dunkleosteus (Dunkle’s bone) had thick, bony plates covering their skulls and was up to ten metres, and weighed more than a ton.
